On August 4 and 5, Viettel High Tech, in collaboration with the GSM Association (GSMA) and the 6G Forum of Korea, organized the Business Connection Program and the Beyond 5G/6G Conference to discuss and exchange views on the development of the 6G technology ecosystem.
The program, held at Viettel High Tech, featured a series of in-depth discussions on technology trends, research capabilities, and strategic cooperation opportunities in the development, testing, interoperability validation, and commercialization of next-generation technologies.
The discussions focused on key technology trends, including AI-native networks, Open RAN, 5G-Advanced, AI-RAN, and the roadmap toward 6G.
The event brought together Professor Kyunghi Chang, Chairman of the 6G Forum Steering Committee; Mr. Julian Gorman, Head of Asia Pacific at GSMA; Mr. Yongjun Chung, Chairman of the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) of Korea; representatives from the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI); and Korean companies.

Hosting the delegation and chairing the event, Nguyen Minh Quang, General Director of Viettel High Tech, emphasized the company’s ambition to develop 6G alongside the rest of the world, with the goal of preparing for the first 6G call using Vietnamese-developed equipment by 2029.
“We aim to move from being a technology implementation unit to taking a more proactive role in technology development and international standardization. We understand that the development of 6G requires long-term collaboration among mobile network operators, equipment manufacturers, chipset companies, AI infrastructure providers, research institutes, universities, standards organizations, and industry forums,” Nguyen Minh Quang said.

Viettel High Tech has developed a complete 5G ecosystem and commercialized telecommunications infrastructure products and network solutions in Vietnam, while also exporting them to multiple markets across Asia and Africa. Its experience in product development and real-world network deployment enables Viettel High Tech to approach 6G from the perspective of the entire telecommunications product lifecycle.
Through the conference series, Viettel High Tech aims to expand its international partnership network, promote interoperability testing and joint solution development, and gradually deepen the participation of Make by Vietteltechnologies in the international standardization, testing, and commercialization of 5G-Advanced and 6G.

Representatives from GSMA also shared insights into market trends, policies, business models, and international initiatives related to 5G-Advanced and 6G, helping connect businesses and research organizations with partners across the global ecosystem.
The 6G Forum of Korea is a national public-private collaboration platform dedicated to 6G technology. It is one of the key organizations supporting strategy development, research, standardization, and ecosystem cooperation for 6G in South Korea.
The 6G Forum currently brings together more than 200 Korean experts from organizations including TTA; companies such as Samsung, LG, and SK Telecom; the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute; and universities including Inha University, Seoul National University, and KAIST.
