MSC (Mobile Switching Center) is the central component of the 2G and 3G softswitch system, performing switching between mobile users in the network and other networks such as PSTN, IDN and other mobile networks. MSC functions include access and mobility management, call handling (set-up, release and routing), SMS routing, conference call management, fax service, service charging and interconnection. Viettel MSC supports full MSC/GMSC functions and serves 2G and 3G subscribers.
